Agreement to Terms and Conditions
This document sets out the terms and conditions of membership of the Healthy Dog Club (the “contract”). By completing and submitting your Healthy Dog Club registration you confirm that you are the legal owner of the dog(s) listed on your registration form and that you wish to enter into a contract for membership of the Healthy Dog Club with Vet in the City Limited, trading as Vet in the City (“The Company”, “Vet in the City”, “we”, “us” or “our”) subject to these terms and conditions.
We are registered in England and Wales under number 10629074. Our registered office is at Kemp House, 152-160 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.
Please read the terms and conditions carefully. If you have questions concerning them please raise these with Vet in the City before completing your registration.
Changes to the Agreements
We reserve the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms and Conditions at our sole discretion. The Terms and Conditions applicable to your access to and use of this website will be the version that is current and displayed on the website as at each date you access the website.
Your Annual Service
As part of your membership you will be entitled to receive the following benefits for the Dogs(s) named on your registration form:
a) Annual booster vaccination (including Leptospirosis 4 booster and Kennel Cough).
b) Monthly flea and lungworm products, including application or administration.
c) Quarterly worm products, including administration.
d) Monthly weight and health assessments conducted by a RCVS Veterinary Surgeon.
e) Pamper package; nail clipping (without sedation), ear cleaning and anal gland expression as required or requested.
f) Microchip placement and registration if not already done.
g) Annual urine test. (Urine test is based on a provided free-catch sample only).
We cannot accept instructions from anybody under the age of 18 years. We understand that requests may be made by persons acting as your agent, such as pet carer, doggy daycare owner, kennel owner. It is assumed, unless advised in writing by yourself, that they have your authority and are acting in your interest and on your behalf. Requests for account details to be changed must be made in writing by the account holder.
a) There is no insured benefit. THIS IS NOT AN INSURANCE POLICY.
b) The Service is not an emergency service and is not intended to replace your primary veterinary practitioner. If you think you need emergency assistance, you should take your dog to the nearest emergency veterinary practice.
c) As part of the Service, you will provide us with contact information for your primary care veterinary practice and grant us permission to contact this veterinary practice. This is in accordance with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons code of Professional Conduct.
d) Your Healthy Dog Club plan is not transferable to other dogs.
e) For the avoidance of doubt Vet in the City have discretion as to the medications and treatments provided under the terms of this agreement.
f) All notices given to Vet in the City under the provisions of this agreement must be in writing.
g) For the purposes of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 this agreement is not intended to, and does not, give any person who is not a party to it any right to enforce any of its provisions.
h) Vet in the City shall only be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you which is a reasonably foreseeable consequence of a breach of this Agreement. i) Vet in the City’s total liability to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with the Contract shall be limited to the total fees paid under the Contract.
Your membership of the Healthy Dog Club will begin on completion of your registration and payment of the first monthly fee and will continue on a rolling monthly contract.
You are entitled to withdraw from this Agreement within 14 days of registration. You must exercise your right of withdrawal by written notice to Vet in the City. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Vet in the City requires one month’s notice of termination. You agree to provide such notice or pay one month’s membership fee. You may cancel with notice at any time; there is no minimum term of contract.
Should your dog be deemed to be unsuitable due to medical or behavioural reasons, we reserve the right to cancel the membership with immediate effect.
You agree that you will make monthly payments to Vet in the City equal to a membership fee. Payment will be taken by Direct Debit on or around the 4th of each month.
If you fail to make any monthly payment on the due date for payment Vet in the City shall be entitled to suspend the provision of goods and services to you until you have paid the overdue sum in full. Should you fail to do so within 30 days Vet in the City shall be entitled to terminate your membership.
We reserves the right to an annual increase of the monthly payment provided that we give you no less than one month’s notice of such increase. If you do not agree with the increase you may terminate your membership with immediate effect by notifying Vet in the City in writing within 2 weeks of receiving notice of the increase.
It is your responsibility to ensure your current account has sufficient funds to pay the Charges. We shall not be responsible for any additional charges which may be imposed on you by your bank or card issuer. On termination of the Contract for any reason you shall immediately pay us all of Vet in the City’s outstanding unpaid invoices and interest and, in respect of services supplied but for which no invoice has been submitted, we shall submit an invoice, which shall be payable by you immediately on receipt.
All Charges include VAT unless otherwise stated.
We process all Direct Debit payments through our payment partner GoCardless Ltd. As a payment institution authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) they provide a secure environment for processing payments. By signing up to Vet in the City’s Healthy Dog Club you will also be agreeing to GoCardless’ terms & conditions. Your payments are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee which is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
You will find our name in the payment reference although it can vary depending upon your bank, in most situations it will appear as a payment to GOCARDLESS LTD with reference “VETINTHECITYXXX” where the last few characters are randomised for security reasons.

We are unable to answer queries made by owners whose animals are not under our veterinary care as this is considered unethical by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
We aim to offer you a professional, friendly and efficient service and we hope that you will be pleased with the work we do for you. However, should a difficulty arise, our approach is to be constructive. Every complaint will be taken seriously, will be investigated thoroughly and promptly and remedial action will be taken as appropriate. We will not be liable to you for any lack of performance, or the unavailability or failure, of this website or our services, or for any failure by us to comply with these Terms and Conditions, where such lack, unavailability or failure arises from any cause reasonably beyond our control.
Applicable laws require that some of the information or communications we send to you should be in writing. When using our site, you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on our website. For contractual purposes, you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
Transfer of Rights and Obligations
The contract between you and us is binding on you and us and on our respective successors and assignees. You may not transfer, assign, charge or otherwise dispose of a Contract, or any of your rights or obligations arising under it, without our prior written consent. We may transfer, assign, charge, sub-contract or otherwise dispose of a Contract, or any of our rights or obligations arising under it, at any time during the term of the Contract.
The content of the website, including graphics, data, information, text, images, design, logos, links, software and source code are protected by copyright, trademarks, database and other intellectual property rights. All rights, including copyright, in the content the pages of the website are owned and controlled by us. You may retrieve and display the content of the website on a computer screen, store such content in electronic form on disk (but not any server or other storage device connected to a network) or print one copy of such content for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep intact all and any copyright and proprietary notices. You may not otherwise reproduce, modify, copy, broadcast, download, store (in any medium), show, play in public, adapt, change in any way or distribute or use for commercial purposes any of the materials or content on the website without our prior written permission.
If you post comments on the Products or Services to any website, blog or social media network (Commentary) you must ensure that such Commentary represents your fairly-held opinions. We will only use your personal information to administer the Healthy Dog Club which may include proving details to our partner day care’s. We may need to disclose or share your personal information with regulatory authorities for the purpose of fraud preventions and/or to comply with any legal or regulatory requirement.

From time to time Vet in the City may wish to use the details you have provided to advise you of associated products which are important to your animal’s welfare and of potential interest as a pet owner. If you do not wish to be informed of these please notify Vet in the City of your preference by contacting us.
As a business we are aware of the environmental demands of modern day life and as such have instigated a number of green initiatives, including reducing the amount of paper we use.
Your use of this website is governed by these Terms and Conditions and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising from your use of this website and the services we provide are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
