Meet your vet, Martin

"Hi there! I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I lived until moving to Pretoria so that I could study to be a veterinarian. I was raised in a household that has always had pets and I truly understand what it feels like to have and care for beloved, furry extra family members. The emotional connection and empathetic support we receive from our pets is nothing short of wondrous.

Combine this love for animals with a healthy interest in science and my career choice, seems in retrospect, like an obvious one.

I moved to the UK at the beginning of 2011, immediately after graduating, and have called Bow home for the last 10 years. I have undertaken some extra studies in ophthalmology and have always had an interest in internal medicine but have found my true passion to be in general practice and being able to meet any challenge that presents itself.

I am so excited to be able to bring our vision of what veterinary care can be to the community that I am so proud to be a part of!"

'' I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, surrounded by every pet imaginable, and from a young age I knew I wanted to be a vet.

I graduated in 2012, and I moved to the UK in 2015 to further my career and deepen my experience, and this is when I rescued our beloved cat Cookie! In 2021, I completed an Advanced practitioner degree in Small Animal Surgery,  and I have always enjoyed working as a general practitioner.

My passion for animals has driven me into this profession, and my goal is to provide compassionate care , helping both pets and their owners with a personal, empathetic approach. ''

Meet vet nurse, Nancy

Hiya I’m Nancy. I graduated as a registered veterinary nurse at the Royal Veterinary College in 2020. Since then, I have had experience working in NHS hospitals, as a locum in first-opinion practices, full-time in a charity hospital, and as an orthopaedic nurse at a tertiary referral centre. Through my training and experiences, I have become passionate about keeping up to date with current research and best practices. I pride myself on providing all my patients with gold-standard care.

I am passionate about promoting strong, positive relationships between pet owners and the vets so that we can work together as a team to take care of your beloved pets. In due time, I will be providing a wide variety of nursing consultations alongside supporting the vets with the patients in surgery at the practice.

I have lived in Bow my whole life, and I can’t wait to help the Vet in the City team provide outstanding veterinary services to our community.

As a dedicated receptionist at our veterinary practice, I bring my passion for animals and love for connecting with people to every interaction. I ensure that both our furry patients and their owners feel welcome and cared for.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking up new recipes and exploring different restaurants.

My favourite dog breed is a staffy, and I cherish the joy they bring into our lives.

I'm excited to be a part of a team that shares my commitment to animal welfare and client satisfaction!
